Know About Ice climbing

Ice climbing is considered to be an outcome of mountain climbing only. With the help of certain tools and equipments the climbers can climb the high vertical mountains.
For being an ice climber one needs to undergo through training and should well experienced. One should be good at making judgment and take wise steps. Some special tools like ice screws, crampons and ice axes are used by the climbers. An ice climber is used to dig and climb. The climber can rests the body weight on the crampon. If the axe is stuck tightly in the ice then the entire exercise can be repeated and thus some careful steps can be taken ahead.

Himalayas are the place where the ice climbers can experience different kinds of adventure. Manali and Uttaranchal in the state of Himachal Pradesh are the main spots. Ice climbing is now evolving in Indian sub-continent. Ice-climbers can move ahead only if they are focused and adopt appropriate technique in the same direction. Union International Des Associations D'Alpinisme (UIAA) is an organization that recognizes Ice climbing. It also conducts the completion for the same on annual basis.
What you must carry
While going for such expedition one needs to carry certain things like mountaineering boots and different ice tools. These ice tools should be sharp and have curve. One must put on non-cotton clothes as they keep the body warm and are water proof. One must not forget to carry mittens, gloves, hat, gaiters, sunscreen, goggles and extra pair of socks. Water must be carried in insulated bottles. Other important things are shovels, avalanche beacons, long ice axes, harnesses, helmets, and ropes.
